Born April 14, 2011.
Wednesday night at 2:00 am I got my first contraction. It was uncomfortable but not super strong. For the rest of the night I was waking up about every hour to these contractions. At about 2:30 pm I started getting the SUPER painful ones. Jason didn't want to be stuck at the hospital for hours so we stayed home and walked it out. at 4:30 pm my contractions started getting to 3 or 4 min apart so we left. My mom had just flown in from CA and was driving down to watch Annie.
We got to the hospital and checked in about 5 pm. (Worst car ride of my life!!) When I got in my room I was only at a 5. I had my hypnobirth scripts playing and I was breathing through the contractions and trying to relax. My Dr. showed up and was getting ready when I started getting SUPER strong urges to push. When my Dr. checked me again I was at a 10. I pushed for about 15 minutes and the baby was out. 7 lbs 8 oz. 19 inches long.
Jason and I had been thinking about names for a couple months but couldn't agree on anything. I was thinking that Kylee was going to be the name because it was the only name that we both liked. When I saw the baby I immediately knew it should be Olivia. It really surprised me because we had decided that we didn't want to use Olivia a long time ago. But I really felt that was the name.
The day we got home Annie had a fever and that is when the challenges began. It was SUPER hard to keep Annie away from Olivia. Annie really wanted to see and touch the baby and she had hurt feelings that she couldn't. It was the worst timing possible for Annie to get sick. A few days later I got it and then Jason got it. Jason is still recovering but Olivia luckily hasn't gotten sick. yet.... Still hoping we are in the clear. I have never washed my hands SO many times in one day!!
This time around has been so much easier. Olivia has 3-4 hour stretches at night. She had no problems nursing. She will take a binkie (much less work for mom!) Did I mention I absolutely love this little girl?!? I am so excited for Annie and Olivia to grow up together and be sisters. It has been such a great experience and I know I will get used to all the craziness sooner or later.
